Elections to the Turkish Grand National Assembly now has definitive nationwide and constituency-level results of the July 22, 2007 parliamentary election, published yesterday and today by Turkey's Supreme Election Council (YSK).

Note that the number of votes polled by independent candidates in the constituencies of Antalya, Denizli and Sakarya, by the Enlightened Turkey Party (ATP; included in "Others") in Kastamonu, and by the Felicity Party (SP) in Erzincan have been corrected to bring the constituency-level figures in line with corresponding valid vote totals and final nationwide results as furnished by YSK.

2007 Turkish Grand National Assembly election results
Elections to the Turkish Grand National Assembly now has preliminary nationwide and constituency-level results of last Sunday's parliamentary election in Turkey, as reported by the Supreme Election Council (YSK).

These figures differ slightly from vote totals published on diverse Turkish news media websites, and don't take into account votes cast in border gates by Turkish citizens residing abroad - which according to news reports have given Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) an extra seat in Hakkari province, at the expense of an independent candidate. Consequently, AKP is expected to have a total of 341 seats in the Grand National Assembly, while the number of independent deputies would be reduced to 26.
